Congratulations to Stone Program faculty affiliate Claudia Goldin, the Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard University, who was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences on October 9, 2023. The prize, according to the Nobel Prize press release, recognizes Professor Goldin "for having advanced our understanding of women’s labour market outcomes." Professor Goldin became affiliated with the Stone Program when it was known as the Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality & Social Policy. She has mentored many program affiliates, as discussed by students and colleagues in the Harvard Gazette. 
Her 2008 book with Lawrence F. Katz, The Race between Education and Technology, was the subject of an Inequality & Social Policy Special Event on February 26, 2009, moderated by Christopher Jencks and featuring discussants Robert Margo and Richard B. Freeman. To watch the discussion, click here.
