Kelsey Pukelis is a Ph.D. student in Public Policy interested in the economics of the social safety net. Her current research focuses on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, with projects investigating the impacts of work requirements, the effects of drastic administrative changes made to the program since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the nature of stigma associated with participation. Previously, she worked as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research New England and a research assistant at the University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Her work is supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Stone Ph.D. Scholar Fellowship.
