Welcoming Neil Cummins as the 2026-2027 Stone Visiting Scholar

Harvard's Stone Program in Wealth Distribution, Inequality, and Social Policy has appointed Neil J. Cummins as the 2026-2027 Stone Visiting Scholar and Visiting Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. Cummins is Professor of Economic History at the London School of Economics, a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. He will be conducting research and teaching the Stone PhD Scholars while in residence with the Stone Program. He is the Stone Program's fifth Stone Visiting Scholar, following the previous appointments of economists Lisa Lynch (2025-2026), David Weil (2024-2025), Lucas Chancel (2023-2024), and David Autor (2021-2022).
