Sabrina Pendergrass has been awarded Exemplary Diversity Dissertation Award from the National Center for Institutional Diversity, University of Michigan (2010), for her dissertation, “Making moves: Place, culture, and stratification in African American reverse migration to the urban South.”

Sabrina Pendergrass has been awarded the Best Graduate Student Paper Award from the Poverty, Class, and Inequality Section of the Society for the Study of Social Problems for “Making Moves: Social Stratification and the Socioeconomic and Symbolic Dimensions of Black Reverse Migration to the South.” (2010).
