National Academy of Sciences elects new members

Recognizing their “distinguished and continuing achievements in original research,” the National Academy of Sciences announced the election of 84 new members today, including Lawrence F. Katz, the Elisabeth Allison Professor of Economics at Harvard.

Also joining the Academy this year is Kathryn Edin, a former director of the Inequality & Social Policy program and now Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins University.

Other National Academy of Sciences members affiliated with the Inequality & Social Policy program include Claudia Goldin, Christopher Jencks, Robert Putnam, Robert Sampson, Theda Skocpol, Mary C. Waters, and William Julius Wilson.
