Monica Bell receives four ASA awards for outstanding paper

Awardee | Monica C. Bell, Ph.D. candidate in Sociology & Social Policy

Monica Bell is the recipient of four American Sociological Association section awards for her paper, "From Legal Cynicism to Situational Trust."

  • Richard A. Peterson Award for best student paper, CultureSection, American Sociological Association (2015).

  • Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award, Crime, Law, and Deviance Section, American Sociological Association (2015) 

  • Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award, Law Section, American Sociological Association (2015)

  • Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award, Section on Race, Gender, and Class, American Sociological Association (2015) 

Monica Bell's research explores the influence of criminal justice on family life and points of intersection between criminal law, housing law, family law, and poverty-related social policy in the United States.  A Ph.D. candidate in Sociology & Social Policy, Bell holds a J.D. from Yale Law School.
