Washington Center for Equitable Growth announces 2019 resident scholars: Angela Lee

Awardee | Wiener PhD Scholar Angela Lee, PhD candidate in Sociology, is one of two doctoral students selected to be a resident scholar at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth during the 2019-2020 academic year. Lee's dissertation examines how gender and parenthood shape the accumulation of wealth in the United States.

Awardee | Stone PhD Scholar Anna Stansbury, PhD candidate in Economics, is one of 13 doctoral student grantees announced today by the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. Stansbury received a research grant for her work (joint with Gregor Schubert, Harvard PhD candidate in Business Economics), "Getting Labor Markets Right: Occupational Mobility and Outside Options."

Awardee | Ellora Derenoncourt, PhD candidate in Economics, is one of 12 doctoral student grantees announced today by the Washington Center for Equitable Growth.  Ellora and colleague Claire Montialoux of CREST and UC Berkeley will invetigate how effective basic and universal labor standards are at reducing group inequality in order to increase our understanding of how a higher wage floor and universal federal labor standards can impact the racial and gender wage gaps.

Alex will investigate the role mentoring can play in economic mobility for disadvantaged youth, including impacts on college attendance, employment outcomes, incarceration, and reliance on government assistance.
