Unsustainable Inequalities: How to Protect the Environment in an Unequal World?

Lucas Chancel is an economist who specializes in inequality and environmental policy. His work focuses on the measurement of economic inequality, its interactions with sustainable development, and the implementation of social and ecological policies. Chancel is Co-Director of the World Inequality Lab at the Paris School of Economics, Affiliate Professor at Sciences Po, and current Visiting Scholar at HKS.

Can we fight poverty and inequality while protecting the environment? Chancel confronts these difficulties head-on, arguing that the goals of social justice and a greener world can be compatible, but that progress requires substantial changes in public policy.
