 **About the speaker**

 David Broockman is Associate Professor of Political Economy at Stanford Graduate School of Business. In January 2020, he joins the faculty of the University of California, Berkeley as Associate Professor of Political Science.

 Broockman’s research focuses on public opinion in the United States and how politicians represent it, generally using field experiments and other approaches that allow for rigorous causal inferences to be drawn.

 His published work has appeared in Science, the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, Political Analysis, the Journal of Politics, and other outlets.
