Anthony A. Jack, a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology, is the recipient of the Eastern Sociological Society's 2015 Charles V. Willie Minority Graduate Student Award, which is given annually to a minority student who demonstrates exceptional scholarly promise. 

Jack was recognized for his scholarly accomplishments and potential, as well as his leadership shown in issues of race and diversity in higher education. Jack received the award at the ESS annual meeting in New York City, Feb 26-Mar 1, 2015.

ESS established the award in 2013 in honor of Dr. Charles V. Willie, the Charles William Eliot Professor of Education Emeritus at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, in "recognition of his work on racial and ethnic minorities, his support of minority graduate students, and his invaluable contributions to ESS."
